The calculation of the final drive ratio for an RC car involves multiplying the number of spur gears by the number of pinion gears and then by the secondary gear ratio. This formula allows for a precise determination when configuring your RC car’s performance.

Low Gear Setting:
- Fast acceleration
- No increase in maximum speed
- Reduced motor load
- Extended battery running time
High Gear Setting:
- Slow acceleration
- Increase in maximum speed
- Higher motor load
- Shorter battery running time

It can be tedious to perform these calculations repeatedly, which is why an offline application has been developed to simplify this process. However, it is essential to consider that certain motors and ESC models come with their own recommended gear ratios that should be taken into account for optimal performance.
